The Commanderie de Bordeaux à Londres recently held its Fine Wine Dinner.
This is an annual dinner held by the London Commanderie at which it seeks to serve some of the best wines that it holds in its cellar. This year’s event was held at the dedicated wine club, 67 Pall Mall.
30 Commandeurs and guests enjoyed a starter of tuna loin which paired perfectly with Château Pape Clément Blanc 2021.
The main course of fillet steak was accompanied by Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2001, Château Lafite Rothschild 2001 and, in recognition of London Commanderie’s foundation year, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 1996, all of which were drinking beautifully.
The final wine of the evening was a superb Château d’Yquem 2003 which was the perfect partner as always for a tarte tatin.
Guests were expertly guided through the wines by Sebastian Payne MW.
The London Commanderie now looks forward to marking its 30th anniversary later this year, which will be celebrated with a dinner accompanied by wines from the 1996 vintage.
