On 14 January 2026, the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux, accompanied by the Bordeaux wine brotherhoods, presented its New Year's greetings to the Mayor of Bordeaux during the annual ceremony in which members paraded from the CIVB to the City Hall, dressed in their robes and carrying their banners in a convivial atmosphere.
On this occasion, the Mayor of Bordeaux, Pierre Hurmic, praised the work of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux and highlighted its international influence, notably through the presence of Vincent Sicet, Master of the Bordeaux Commandery in Lima, as 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the twinning between Bordeaux and the Peruvian capital.
In a difficult context for the wine industry, the mayor ended his speech by reaffirming his support for winemakers.
The reception was attended by representatives of Bordeaux Métropole: Lucien Bruneau, Céline Papin and Brigitte Bloch, as well as Patrick Seguin, President of the CCI Bordeaux Gironde, and Christophe Château of the CIVB.
